Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation is one of the oldest research institutions in Europe. It was officially established in Warsaw, Poland in 1926, although its roots date back to 1918. For over 90 years of its activity, the scientists and constructors working at the Institute have brought outstanding contributions to the development of the Polish economy and defense. Currently, the Institute provides the highest quality research and development services for local and global industrial partners from the aviation and space sectors. The Institute operates 30 specialized laboratories, including the largest wind tunnel in Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, the Institute employs 1,250 people. Centralny Port Komunikacyjny

The development envisages the construction of Solidarity Airport located 37 km west of Warsaw and covering the space of 3,000 ha. During the first stage, the airport will handle 45 million passengers a year. Additionally, CPK will include railway investments: railway nod in the airport’s close vicinity as well as connections within Poland enabling transfer between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in less than 2.5 hours. The investment should provide employment for over 150,000 people. Airport City will be created within the CPK’s region including fair, congress and conference facilities as well as offices. CPK is in 100% owned by the State Treasury, being a strategic company from the point of view of Poland’s interests.

MTU Aero Engines Polska, będąca częścią grupy MTU Aero Engines AG, jest wiodącą firmą branży lotniczej specjalizującą się w produkcji podzespołów do silników lotniczych.
