Η ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΕΣ ΥΠΕΡΑΓΟΡΕΣ ΣΚΛΑΒΕΝΙΤΗΣ Α.Ε.Ε. είναι μία αμιγώς ελληνική Επιχείρηση στον χώρο της λιανικής πώλησης τροφίμων, ειδών ευρείας κατανάλωσης και διαρκών αγαθών. Η ιστορία της ξεκινάει το 1954 από τα Πετράλωνα, όταν τα αδέλφια Σπύρος και Γιάννης Σκλαβενίτης και ο φίλος τους Μιλτιάδης Παπαδόπουλος ιδρύουν μία εταιρεία, η οποία έχει ως δραστηριότητα τη χονδρική πώληση τροφίμων σε παντοπωλεία, τη συσκευασία και τη διάθεση μπαχαρικών σε καρτέλες. Το 1967, βασιζόμενοι σε ένα νέο μέσο επικοινωνίας για την εποχή, το τηλέφωνο, δημιούργησαν την ΤΗΛΕΞΥΠ, την πρώτη εταιρεία τηλεφωνικών παραγγελιών στην Ελλάδα και το 1971 ίδρυσαν το 1ο Supermarket της Επιχείρησης, στη Λεωφόρο Κηφισού 80 στο Περιστέρι. Τα χρόνια που ακολούθησαν, η Επιχείρηση αναπτύχθηκε με σταθερά βήματα, παραμένοντας πιστή στις Αρχές και στις Αξίες που θεμελίωσαν οι Ιδρυτές της, επιδιώκοντας πάντα να διαθέτει προϊόντα άριστης ποιότητας σε τιμές "τόσο φθηνά όσο πουθενά", να προσφέρει ευγενική και γρήγορη εξυπηρέτηση και να συμβάλλει στην πρόοδο της κοινωνίας μας. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, its main operating companies, Truworths Ltd (Truworths, operating primarily in South Africa) and Office Holdings Ltd (Office, operating primarily in the United Kingdom), are leading cash and account retailers of fashion clothing, footwear and related merchandise. T H E E A R L Y DECADES The business changed its name to Truworths Fashion House in 1935. Truworths Ltd was incorporated in 1940 and by the 1950s the chain had expanded to 80 stores.
