African Genesis Institute
African Genesis Institute, the largest and fastest growing African American youth organization of its kind, is sponsoring a free trip to Egypt for 100 students and 50 adult group leaders. And now you can be a part of a tremendous learning experience and travel to the Motherland FREE.
In August of 1998 the African Genesis Institute took its first group to Senegal, West Africa. Since that time the organization has taken nearly three thousand students, parents, and group leaders on a ten day sojourn to Egypt as graduates of the African Genesis program.
The African Genesis Institute is a nonprofit School Without Walls. Its mission is raising race and self esteem, increasing literacy, promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging entrepreneurship.
Over a 27-month period students and group leaders learn of their rich and extraordinary ancient African history through 9 classes held at the African American Museum of Philadelphia, reading and writing assignments from a curriculum designed by Drs. Edward Robinson and Chike Akua, oral presentations and field trips in the United States and Canada with the focus on developing an understanding and awareness of the African experience in America.
