BBN Architects Inc. is adaptably structured, very much like our work. We provide architectural, landscape architectural, interior design and urban planning services that place everything in context. Four principals and a diverse cadre of professionals work in a collegial environment from two locations: Manhattan Kansas and Kansas City Missouri. We are staffed and positioned to handle projects large and small, from academic buildings and downtown redevelopment to public gardens and individual residences.

AVA - Andrea Vattovani Architecture

Andrea Vattovani Architecture (AVA) is a young studio specializing in architecture, urbanism, as well as research and design. Founded in 2008, our team has already developed over 60 projects in several countries. Our Graz based studio has worked on a variety of projects, each one having been developed with particular attention to its individual case, while holding on to AVA’s mission. Specifically, we believe that as planners and designers of urban projects and buildings, we have the responsibility to improve the city’s quality through creating real solutions. Second, for private projects, our state of the art tailored architectural design caters to specific clients’ needs simultaneously aiming to improve their quality of life. More generally, some of the key strategies of our team are creative reduction of form, meticulous attention to detail, and always achieving a noble architectural design with a strong focus on functionality and accurate response to site surrounding. Architectural responsibility is the main focus of our attention at AVA; moreover, it is evident throughout all stages of our projects, from initial conceptualization to project completion.

Merrill Morris Partners

Merrill Morris Partners (MMP) is a woman-owned landscape architectural consulting firm with a 40-year history of delivering placemaking projects to private and public owners. We have offices in Oakland and San Francisco, but we serve projects throughout California. The heart of our practice is the people we work with: owners, clients, design teams, agencies, and communities. MMP's landscape architects, planners, urban designers, and support professionals have the creativity and experience needed to meet design challenges and to successfully attain consensus and approvals. We take pride in working with multidisciplinary teams to bridge commercial and public interests. We contribute to the communities we serve by creating outdoor spaces that bring people closer to nature. MMP is a certified SBE/DBE/WBE/LBE and is continuously looking for opportunities to team with other firms in the A&E field.

lundberg design

We are located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, in a 1933 mattress factory building. It is a perfect building for the kind of firm we are – raw concrete walls and exposed timber trusses, with high volumes and enough square footage to house our architectural practice, fabrication shop, and even a work-week apartment for Olle. The practice has always been very diverse – we have designed homes, restaurants, wineries, corporate headquarters, distilleries, hotels, apartment buildings, bars, lobbies, and even San Francisco’s bus shelters. We describe our style as “nature-inspired modernism,” and we strive for elegant, simple solutions in our work. We like materials with substance – wood, stone, steel; materials with heft and texture – really the opposite of veneer. For us the making of architecture is a collaborative act; between ourselves and especially with our clients – while we aim for poetry we also pride ourselves on making buildings that work very, very well. The work is quite personal – to our clients, to the site, and to us; and to that end we have always had a fabrication shop as part of our practice. It is a place to experiment with materials and details; it is a place to build things. The shop is a way to emphasize the notion of craft in our projects – the unique piece handmade for just that moment. This enables us to at times act a little more like a sculptor, where the process of making begins to inform the end result, so that the pieces really do end up being one-of-a-kind. The act of making is different from just drawing an idea – no matter the cost the mark of the hand makes the piece a kind of gift, unique and personal to that client. It is an inseparable part of our design practice.
