Biochemtex

Biochemtex is a global leader in the development and engineering of technologies and bio-chemical processes based on the exclusive use of non-food biomass, as an alternative to oil. Thanks to a partnership with Beta Renewables – company owned as majority shareholder in Joint Venture with the American private equity firm, TPG and the Danish leader in bio-innovation, Novozymes – it realises technologies and plants to produce bio-ethanol and other chemical intermediates. After seven years of studies and a 150 million Euro of investment, Biochemtex developed the Proesa® process, an exclusive technology platform commercialised by Beta Renewables. Proesa® is used to produce bio-fuels and chemical intermediates and it has been demonstrated on an industrial scale at the Crescentino plant, that is the 1st demo plant in the world that produces 2nd generation bioethanol on industrial scale. Biochemtex is also developing a new technology called MOGHI to convert lignin into bio-diesel and other aromatics, largely used in the industrial field. The Company belongs to the Mossi Ghisolfi Group based in Tortona, Italy and runs two Research Centers in Rivalta Scrivia (AL) and Modugno (BA), when by 2014 it will become the MOGHI demo plant. In 2012 Biochemtex had an income of 200 million Euros, with 250 employees. The company plans to invest about 180 million Euros in R&D for the period 2013-2018.

GIZ China Wind Power Project @ CWPC China Wind Power Center

CWPC is a Wind Power Training and Applied Research project aiming at improving the planning and operation of wind farms and related electricity grids through capacity building among Chinese engineers and technicians active in the wind power sector. The ultimate aim is to improve the efficiency of renewable energy utilization in China and to allow renewable energies to fully utilize their potential for CO2 reduction in electricty generation. CWPC was setup in 2005 as a cooperation project funded by Germany's Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce MOFCOM. The political partners are SGCC - State Grid Corporation of China and GUOADIAN - China Guodian Corporation. The project implementation is undertaken by CEPRI - China Electric Power Research Institute and CLYPG - China Long Yuan Electric Power Corporation and GIZ - German International Cooperation Agency. The consulting components are implemented by MVV - DECON GmbH with the help of GOPA-intec and a large number of German wind power consulting and research organizations (e.g. ISET. IWET, Deutsche WindGuard, BFW, RWTH, FGW, MOE,..). Phase 1 of the project went form April 2005 through Oktober 2010 Phase 2 started in November 2011 and will last until Oktober 2014 CWPC changed its name to China Wind Power Project - CWPP in 2007 due to the fact that a unified physical centre would not be established but unstead both partners CLYPG and CEPRI were establishing their own specialized centres. CWPC continued as a virtual entity at www.cwpc.cn In Phase 2 the technical activities are a set of components within the larger CWPP - China Wind Power PROGRAMME, where GIZ is also implementing advise on Renewable Energy Policy aspects. The techncial components are still implemented by mvv-decon and also GOPA-intec. China Wind Power Project now refers to the technical components of the China Wind Power Programme.
