USO

The USO is for the people who serve. Strengthening the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families. Since 1941, the USO has strengthened America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side. We are the Force Behind the Forces. We currently operate more than 250 USO centers at or near military installations, including in combat zones, MEPS centers, several airports, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy. We serve the American Armed Forces - specifically, U.S. Active, Reserve, and Guard service members and their families through a wide arrange of programs and entertainment. The USO is a congressionally chartered, private organization that relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of over 30,000 volunteers to accomplish our mission. The USO is not part of the federal government.

Association of Fundraising Professionals Golden Gate

AFP Golden Gate is one of the largest chapters in the worldwide Association of Fundraising Professionals. Members are active fundraising-related professionals in Bay Area organizations: executive directors, development and communications leaders, associates, board members, consultants and coaches. Programs take on provocative topics, deliver experiences with latest practice, provide mentoring, and give members and community an inclusive platform to meet and talk about what matters in resourcing today's nonprofits. AFP Golden Gate produces one of the most meaningful philanthropic celebrations of the year in November: National Philanthropy Day. World Mosquito Program (WMP)

The World Mosquito Program (WMP) is a not-for-profit group of companies owned by Australia's Monash University that works to protect the global community from mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, Zika, yellow fever, and chikungunya. The World Mosquito Program uses naturally occurring bacteria called Wolbachia to reduce the ability of mosquitoes to transmit viruses that cause life-threatening diseases throughout tropical countries of the world. Following years of laboratory research, independent risk analysis and successful field trials, WMP has undertaken deployments in 13 countries around the world and has widespread support from communities, governments and public health regulators. We are now undergoing rapid organisational change to position WMP to play a key role in scaling global access to Wolbachia and helping to protect the 4 billion people worldwide who live at risk of dengue and other mosquito transmitted viral diseases.
