6Revs is a research-driven analyst firm which works closely with a small group of clients to help them understand how global, converging trends will impact their individual businesses.
We help decision-makers make informed decisions. We work collaboratively with our clients to inform, educate and challenge their thinking.
We also understand that strategic decision-making is an ongoing, iterative process, so we have designed our analysis to reflect that. While lengthy, in-depth research reports have their place, they are often hard to digest and soon become out-of-date. We instead focus on delivering our analysis in more accessible, regular bite-size chunks on a more interactive basis with our clients.
Why the name ‘6Revs’?
6Revs is an abbreviation of “6 Revolutionsâ€; which is based on our experience that it typically takes an idea up to six iterations to be fully realised. This is because each cycle results in the goal posts being pushed further and further away as your knowledge and ability to solve the problem grows. Crucial to the 6Revs idea is that undergoing 6 revolutions is not a sign of failure, but the mark of progress and achievement.
To use an outsourcing project as an example, you may start off with a broad goal in mind (e.g. reduce costs by 20%). You start with this objective and begin to explore solutions, but only once the project has started can you realise the depth of the challenge and the broader opportunities for improvement. You soon realise that your original goal was not ambitious enough, so you push the goals further. This process typically happens 6 times before a conclusion is reached. Only after 6 revolutions (6Revs) is the project or idea considered to be fully realised.
6Revs represents the accomplishment of something far beyond its initial vision. It is the process that every great idea must go through to reach its pinnacle. If you are not pushing towards 6 iterations of your idea, you are not pushing yourself far enough.
