Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture

The Institute's purpose is to enrich and deepen lives through the wisdom and imagination of the humanities. The humanities, as we treat them, are the written things and the spoken stories that help us define ourselves as human beings - literature, history, philosophy, politics, psychology, and mythology, among other fields. Since 1980, the Dallas Institute has conducted public programs aimed at discovering what the humanities have to offer to the cultural life of the city, and we accomplish this through classes and group studies; through public and professional seminars, through conferences and civic involvement; through programs for school teachers and principals; and through publications.

DC Doors, Inc.

DC Doors is a grassroots initiative that provides housing to the homeless immigrant population in the District of Columbia. It seeks to accomplish this goal by providing transitional and permanent housing and comprehensive supportive services in a culturally competent and sensitive manner to families and single females. DC Doors is in its initial stage as an independent agency, but has existed as the Latino Transitional Housing Partnership (LTHP) since 1999. The program grew from a proposal to fill the gap in transitional and permanent housing needs for Latinos in the northwestern area of Washington, D.C. LTHP functioned as a program sponsored by the Council of Latino Agencies (CLA) until 2002, when the Latin American Youth Center gained fiscal responsibilities. LTHP began as a program intended to eventually become an independent agency, and has now made that transition to DC Doors. DC Doors currently offers two programs: The Latino Transitional Housing Partnership (LTHP); an 18 month transitional housing program for single women and families, and Shelter Plus Care; a permanent supportive housing program for hard to serve dually diagnosed individuals.

National LGBTQ+ Bar Association

The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer legal organizations. The LGBTQ+ Bar promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBTQ+ community in all its diversity.

ABC Carolinas Chapter

ABC of the Carolinas is a family of contractors, suppliers, and industry professionals seeking to promote and improve the image of construction and address the many issues facing the industry. The Carolinas Chapter together with 23,500 member firms nationally promote equality amongst construction managers, general contractors, specialty contractors, suppliers, and industry professionals. With one voice our members seek to improve the construction industry as a whole. Associated Builders & Contractors was founded in Baltimore, MD in 1950 to promote the "merit shop" and the free market system as it relates to the construction industry. Additionally, ABC promotes the "fairness factor", by which all members are seen as being equal. All businesses, from general contractors to suppliers, and sub-contractors to industry professionals, have a voice and vote. This is something that is not found in any other construction association. ABC chartered the Carolinas chapter in 1998.

Clean Lakes Alliance

Clean Lakes Alliance is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement and protection of the lakes, streams, and wetlands in the Yahara River Watershed. Through community support, advocacy, and education, we are working to restore and protect our lakes. Our goal is to raise community awareness of the issues facing the watershed, advocate for the welfare of our lakes, and help procure the necessary funding to clean and protect these waterways. We work closely with state, county, local government agencies, waterway user groups, businesses, and community nonprofits to serve as both a positive voice for the promotion of our cherished lakes and a fundraising vehicle for achieving these ends.
