The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region

For 65 years, The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) has empowered people with differing abilities to live, work and play in the community. The Arc NCR currently offers the following services to individuals with differing abilities living in Harford and Cecil Counties: Supported Employment Services to adults Family Support Services to individuals (age 0-21) and their families Services for Transitioning Youth Treatment Foster Care Services to children and their families Supported Living and Personal Support Services to adults Community Partners day program for adults Our Mission The Arc NCR empowers people with differing abilities to live, work and play in the community. Our Vision A world where people with differing abilities lead personally valued lives. Our Tagline Advocate. Educate. Participate. The Arc NCR supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to create lives that mirror yours and mine: students attending neighborhood schools, adults going to work and living in their own homes, and individuals enjoying the social and recreational opportunities in their communities. We are a private, non-profit local chapter of The Arc Maryland and The Arc of the United States, the largest national community-based organization devoted exclusively to improving the quality of life for all adults and children with developmental disabilities.

Reading Buses

Reading buses is one of Reading's largest employers with 580 employees and operates 194 buses delivering 66,000 passenger journeys each day. Reading has recently risen to be the third highest bus using population in the UK outside of London and has a strong and mature economy, with hi-tech industries and the creative sector contributing significantly to its success. We're proud to have been transporting customers in and around Reading for over 100 years. Yes, there's a lot of history but we're really focused on delivering a great bus service with accessible, modern and frequent services. Along with our owners, Reading Borough Council, we're working to reduce car dependency for access to the area, both for visitors and residents, and make buses the best and easiest choice to get around.
