Animal Welfare Network for Wales (AWNW)

The Animal Welfare Network for Wales (AWNW) is an independent initiative set up to bring together all organisations with volunteers who work in the animal welfare world in Wales. The aim of the Network is to facilitate effective communication between all animal welfare organisations within Wales at a crucial time in the animal welfare world. With the Animal Welfare Act (2006) devolving domestic and captive wild animal welfare to the National Assembly for Wales for the very first time, it is important that everyone is included in the process. The National Assembly for Wales has a Compact with the Voluntary Sector, which allows for a seat on animal welfare on the Third Sector Partnership Council (TSPC). The RSPCA holds that seat and is helping to establish this independent self-governing Network to facilitate information across all interested groups in Wales.

BSP HelpHub

BSP HelpHub is an online careers database for students of the Bartlett School of Planning. The idea of the HelpHub came about following consultation with undergraduate and postgraduate students in the attempts to understand their career aspirations and difficulties. Eventually the idea of creating a careers information platform for students, by students became a way to resolve an issue. This niche yet growing area of professionalism has hit the mainstream and like we experienced, it can be difficult to ascertain which companies are in need for our specialist skill set. ​By providing our fellow peers with up to date knowledge on companies, events and application deadlines we hope to make their experience at university easier to manage and also aid in them progressing into the career they desire. Our Aims are: - Provide information on a variety of career paths one can follow with a degree in planning. - Provide accessible and friendly support in an informal environment. - Incentivise younger students to gain an early understanding of what they can do and how they can work towards their objectives. - Have all relevant information in one place, so you don't have to research dozens of companies yourself.

BNI Kendal

We're a group of local, like-minded professionals who meet every week at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal to pass business and contacts to each other. Visitors are welcome to join us on Wednesdays for a delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant followed by networking before the start of the normal working day.
