Pacific Science & Engineering Group is a small business headquartered in San Diego, California. Since our start in 1984, we have specialized in human factors engineering, ergonomics, and human systems integration for complex military and commercial systems. We create prototyped products in addition to delivering exceptional services. Working collaboratively with users, customers, and system engineers, we employ state of the art processes, tools, and products to develop user-centered designs, conduct applied research, develop models and simulations assess usability, and conduct operationally-based evaluations. Our products have helped customers improve system effectiveness, reduce error, and enhance user performance and decision-making quality. We support general system development, medical system design, work process involvement, and all aspects of the DoD Acquisition and System Engineering Technical Review.

Upsilon Lab

"A lab for undergraduates, by undergraduates."​ Upsilon Lab is a department-sponsored organization at UCLA in the Physics & Astronomy Department. We are undergraduates in the department whose mission is to provide other physics, biophysics, and astrophysics majors the opportunity to learn valuable skills to succeed in their future endeavors, whether in research, engineering, or other fields. We organize teams of 5-8 lowerclassmen undergraduate members to work under an upperclassman team manager with substantial research experience. Members can use Upsilon Lab as a springboard into traditional undergraduate research positions in the UCLA Physics & Astronomy Department. --- Our Mission, from our Constitution. For Members- To build skills vital to their development as future researchers and technical experts, including equipment and experiment design, programming, data analysis, literature review, and presentations, to make them attractive choices for professor-advised research positions in their upperclassmen years. For Managers- Enable them to build their leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills as team managers, and public speaking skills when giving technical presentations.

CUBRC

Since CUBRC’s emergence in 1983, the company has grown from a small facilitator of research into a fully staffed, highly respected, scientifically crucial entity. While it is our mission to make a positive technological and economic impact on Western New York, the influences of our work stretch far beyond the WNY region by making significant technology contributions to our nation as a whole. The technologies and facilities of CUBRC date back to the late 1950s, playing a major role in the development and testing of NASA’s Gemini and Apollo space capsules, the U.S. Space Shuttle as well as many other vehicles that travel through Earth’s atmosphere at speeds much greater than that of sound. More recently, CUBRC has continued its pioneering work in the area of aeronautics by expanding and enhancing our Hypervelocity research facilities into a unique research and test capability, available nowhere else in the world. In 1988, CUBRC expanded our technology to reach beyond aeronautics. CUBRC has made tremendous contributions in defending our country against the effects of biological and chemical agents, improving clinical diagnostic instruments that test for diseases, helping to save lives on streets and highways, and helping people make critical decisions through the development of advanced information systems designed to provide crucial information extracted from massive, disparate sources of data. CUBRC offers exciting challenges where ideas and skills are valued and individual contributions are respected, recognized, and rewarded.
